Client: KPMB Architects

Services: Interior architectural lighting, Exterior architectural lighting

Location: Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Description:

MCLD was engaged by KPMB to act as lighting designers for the new Quantum- Nano Centre at the University of Waterloo. As part of our mandate, we were tasked with designing all the interior and exterior lighting for classrooms, lecture halls, offices, and public spaces. Significant to this project is that we, with Mitchell Hall of KPMB, designed the majority of the custom lighting fixtures which were integrated into the architectural forms of the building. These unique fixtures gave the interior a very sleek and modern appearance in keeping with the building's program. The Quantum-Nano Centre won a governor general's award for architecture and design.
